Elements of Life

CANCER IS SCARY.

It's life changing for those who are diagnosed with it.  It's also life changing for friends and family members who stand by with support.  Most of you know I have been affected by Cancer in my life.  My father was diagnosed with lung cancer almost ten years ago.  He fought bravely, courageously, but lost his battle.  It changed my life.  I watched my rock, my foundation, my hero, disintegrate before my eyes.   He never got the chance to know my children, meet my husband, celebrate my career.

I have been blessed with the opportunity to give back through an organization called Susan G. Komen for the cure.  It's an organization founded by a PROMISE from one sister to another to find the cure for breast cancer.  We find the cure for one cancer, we will ultimately find a way to cure all Cancer - which is truly the goal.

I am the photography chair for the race each August and I am INSPIRED by the STRENGTH and HOPE I see from the women who are fighting their personal battle against breast cancer.

I decided this year to host a charity event to help raise more money for breast cancer research.  Elements of life is a silent auction with 30 pieces of my photography that represent the elements of life: EARTH | AIR | FIRE | WIND.  Some images are printed on metal.  The others are gallery wrapped on either canvas, pearl or velvet.  Elements translated to me as those who transition through a cancer diagnosis and treatment - the stages and emotions are ever changing, ever evolving.

Along with my art, additional friends and supporters are donating their time and talents to the cause.   H&H photo lab has generously donated all of the prints you will bid on.  Food Montage is catering the event - and I promise you will not leave hungry - or disappointed.  The Pink Mixer is providing dessert - I am addicted to these amazing cupcakes!  And, the website I am directing you to was designed by DA Designing - an amazing creative talent!

So, in honor and celebration of all of our friends and family who have been diagnosed with cancer - come celebrate the elements of life with me.
